The Story & Vibe
Join us for "Goodbye to All That, Over Coffee," where we'll dive into two thought-provoking essays while sipping on your favorite beverage. Before the event, you'll read Joan Didion's "Goodbye to All That," which explores the bittersweet love affair with New York, and Salman Rushdie's "Imaginary Homelands," reflecting on the challenges of writing about a city you no longer inhabit. This gathering is a personal one for me, as I’ve moved from Delhi to Bengaluru and before that, the UK. I’m curious about your journey—what memories and experiences you’ve brought along and what you’ve left behind. Can we ever truly "arrive" in a new city? Is nostalgia just a trick of the mind? Don’t worry if you’re not a literary expert; all you need is a willingness to engage in a meaningful conversation over coffee. Come share your thoughts and let’s explore these themes together! ☕✨
