The Story & Vibe
Step into a poignant chapter of literary history with "Die Geträumten," where the lives of two remarkable writers intertwine. Set in post-World War II Vienna, this captivating story follows Austrian philosophy student Ingeborg Bachmann and Romanian-Jewish poet Paul Celan as they navigate love, loss, and the complexities of their pasts. Their brief romance sparks a correspondence that lasts over two decades, even as life leads them down different paths. Their letters, later published as "Herzzeit," are filled with powerful reflections on hope, longing, misunderstandings, and heartache. Join us at the Goethe-Institut Niederlande in Amsterdam on October 22, 2026, for an evening that promises to be both moving and thought-provoking. Don't miss this chance to explore the depths of their connection!
