Synthetic Media and the Crisis of Truth

Dive into the fascinating world of AI at "Synthetic Media and the Crisis of Truth," hosted by APEX Advocacy at the Harriet Tubman Center for Social Justice in Los Angeles. This engaging afternoon will challenge your perceptions of attention, memory, and knowledge in the age of AI, all while honing your critical thinking skills. Led by journalist Christopher Sebastian, you'll explore real-world examples of disinformation and deepfakes, and their impact on mental health. Expect thoughtful discussions in small groups, where you'll analyze how AI-generated media influences our experiences and memories. We'll wrap up by discussing ways to reclaim our attention from technology and focus on collective well-being. Plus, enjoy free snacks and drinks during breaks, and take the time to connect with others who share your interests. Join us for an enlightening experience that’s as much about community as it is about understanding the challenges we face. Remember, masks are required indoors, and donations are welcome to support APEX Advocacy's mission for collective liberation.
