Nostalgic Cafe

To celebrate the launch of Issue 7 of Sweet Potato Mag, Vedhika, the creator of the magazine, is teaming up with Ketki Bhosale for an afternoon built around the snacks they grew up with. Ketki comes from a marketing background but has always been deeply curious about food. Growing up in Dubai, she spent the past few years conducting food tours through some of the city’s older neighbourhoods, introducing people to its many cuisines, flavours and stories. Together, Ketki & Vedhika will be recreating and elevating nostalgic snacks from their childhoods, things they threw together when they were hungry, little combinations they invented. They’ll talk you through each snack as you try them, share the stories behind them, and spend some time thinking about what these seemingly simple foods can bring up. Then, you’ll get your hands busy with an art activity. You’ll decorate your own little snack bag, fill it with some treats, and take it home with you. They’re keeping this a small group of just 10 people, including them, so there’s plenty of time to settle in, chat, share stories and actually get to know one another. No rushing from one activity to the next. Come hungry, come curious, and bring a childhood snack memory of your own.
