The Story & Vibe
Get ready for an unforgettable night at Toi Whakaari: NZ Drama School's graduation production of *The Threepenny Opera*! This captivating play, set in the gritty underbelly of London, follows the infamous Mack the Knife as he navigates a world filled with beggars, thieves, and corrupt officials. With a jazzy, cabaret-style score by Kurt Weill, this sharp and humorous satire of capitalism and corruption is just as relevant today as it was when it debuted in 1928. Join us at Te Whaea - National Dance & Drama Centre on October 22, 2026, and experience the incredible talent of our graduating students in Acting, Production, Design, and more. It's a bold performance that promises to entertain and provoke thought. Just a heads up, it's recommended for ages 15 and up due to some mature themes. Don't miss this chance to support the next generation of performing artists! 🎭
