The Story & Vibe
Join us at El Museo del Barrio for a vibrant Día de Muertos celebration that’s perfect for the whole family! This special day is all about art, remembrance, and community, inspired by the works of Teddy Sandoval and the Butch Gardens School of Art. Together, we’ll honor our loved ones who have passed while celebrating the stories and memories that connect us. Dive into hands-on activities, like creating your own clay offering for the altar or participating in communal braiding with fabric you’re ready to let go of. Don’t forget to visit Kristina Felix’s poignant installation of 296 loaves of pan de muerto, each representing a life lost in ICE facilities since 2003. Capture the moment with a selfie alongside our colorful Catrín and Catrina, enjoy face painting, and discover your aura at our pop-up photobooth. Plus, indulge in delicious tamales and champurrado while supplies last! Come celebrate, remember, and create with us at El Museo del Barrio! 🎉
