The Story & Vibe

Join us for an unforgettable journey at the Launceston Planetarium with "Ngā Tohunga Whakatere - The Navigators"! This captivating film invites you to explore the rich history of Māori/Pasifika and European navigation to Aotearoa/New Zealand through the eyes of a daring teenager named Moko. As Moko, you'll embark on a thrilling adventure aboard traditional voyaging canoes, experiencing the wonders of space and the cultures of legendary explorers like Captain Cook and Abel Tasman. Discover the science and traditions of these navigators while connecting their experiences to the stars above. After the show, stick around for a live tour of the current night sky—it's the perfect way to wrap up your cosmic adventure! Just remember to arrive 15 minutes early to collect your tickets and get ready for an experience that blends history, science, and storytelling in a truly immersive setting. 🌌
